Statistics show that Americans like everything from peelers to hot dog toasters (Missouri’s first choice!) And reveals some insightful information about the cooking preferences of the people all over the country.
For example, residents of the southern states of Alabama and Kentucky choose fryers as their favorite kitchen utensils, which is not surprising given the region’s love of fried food. Similarly, it’s not surprising that enthusiastic Washington people like their espresso machines, while Texans – a group known for their love of barbecue – can’t do without meat tenderizer.

However, not all of the most popular kitchen gadgets in every state have a clear link to the state’s culinary history. For example, in Alaska, the average winter temperature is between 0 and – 30 degrees, and the most popular kitchen gadget is the ice cream machine. In North Dakota, residents are inexplicably preoccupied with their popcorn maker.
